Garden Clean Up Sydney
Overgrown beds, weeds through the lawn, a hedge that has swallowed the path? We do one-off garden clean ups across Sydney. Our qualified horticulturists weed, cut back, mow and edge, then take every bit of green waste away with them. The quote is free and done on site, and the price is fixed, so you know the full cost before we start.
Every garden is different, so we agree the list with you on site. A typical clean up covers:
- Weeding garden beds by hand, roots and all, not just snapping off the tops
- Cutting back overgrown shrubs, climbers and groundcovers
- Bringing hedges back to a clean line (regular shaping is covered by our hedge trimming service)
- Mowing and edging, including lawns that have really got away from you (ongoing lawn maintenance keeps them that way)
- Clearing leaf litter, fallen branches and dead plants
- Tidying bed edges and topping up mulch if you want it
- Taking all the green waste away. It’s in the quote, so there’s no skip to hire
If something needs more than a clean up, like a large tree that needs an arborist or council approval, we’ll tell you rather than have a go at it.
People mix these three up all the time, and picking the right one saves money.
- A clean up is a one-off reset. The garden is basically sound, it has just got ahead of you. We bring it back to a state that’s easy to look after.
- Regular maintenance is what keeps it there, with visits weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Plenty of our clients start with a clean up and then move to garden maintenance Sydney visits so they don’t end up back at square one.
- A makeover is for when the layout itself isn’t working: new planting, soil and design. That’s a bigger job, covered on our garden makeovers page.
Not sure which you need? Ask us at the quote. If the smaller job will do, we’ll say so.
Most of the clean ups we do start with one of these:
- The house is going on the market and the photos or first open home are a week away
- Moving out of a rental and the garden needs to look like it did at the start of the lease
- You’ve just bought a place, or inherited one, and the garden has been left for a year or two
- An older parent’s garden has become too much for them to manage
- Clearing up after a storm, or getting leaf litter and dead growth away from the house before summer
- Strata common areas that need a reset before an inspection or AGM
Or, most often of all, life just got busy. That’s completely fine.

The Sydney weeds we pull out most, and why we bag them
Most of the time in a clean up goes on weeds, and in Sydney gardens the same ones turn up again and again:
- Asparagus fern and onion weed grow back from tubers and bulbs left in the soil, so pulling the tops off achieves nothing. We dig them out.
- Madeira vine and morning glory climb over shrubs and fences and smother them. Madeira vine also drops little aerial tubers that sprout wherever they land.
- Privet, ochna and lantana are woody weeds spread by birds. Seedlings come out by the root; bigger plants are cut low and dug out or treated.
- Wandering trad loves shady, damp beds, and any piece left behind roots again.
- Nutgrass and bindii in the lawn need a different approach to bed weeds.
Anything that can regrow from seed, tubers or broken pieces is bagged and taken away, never left in your compost. Expect a few seedlings to come up in the weeks afterwards, because years of dropped seed sit in the soil. A follow-up visit or a fresh layer of mulch deals with most of them.
How a garden clean up works
We quote on site, never over the phone. You can’t price an overgrown garden from a description.
- Quote visit. We walk the garden with you, agree what goes and what stays, and leave a fixed, itemised quote. Free, with no obligation.
- Before the day. Point out any plants you want kept, let us know about pets, and tell us if there’s no side access. It changes how we get green waste out, and we allow for it in the quote.
- Clean up day. The crew works through beds, hedges and lawn in the order we agreed.
- Green waste leaves with us. No skip, no pile left on the nature strip.
- Walk-through. We go over the finished job with you before we pack up.
Some services charge by the hour, which looks cheaper until the job runs long. Our quoted price is what you pay, and green waste removal is already in it.

Clean ups for strata, rentals and properties going to market
Strata managers can have common areas reset in one visit and then handed straight over to a scheduled strata garden maintenance program. For agents and landlords, we work to your deadline, whether that’s an open home, a final inspection or settlement. Offices, shops and industrial sites are looked after by our commercial garden maintenance team.
